Helping Animals in Japan

Here's an easy way to help the animals in Japan (earthquake and tsunami relief):

Amidst the chaos of an emergency evacuation–often times the safety of our loving animals is overlooked. To many of us, they're a big part of our lives. Let’s make a difference for the voiceless animals who need help in the devastation of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

With each $10 donation, you will receive two handcrafted book thongs (each packaged in a delicate organza pouch) as a token of my gratitude. Keep one for yourself and share the other with a friend.

All proceeds will go to ARK to help support the search and rescue efforts and bring in badly needed resources and housing for Japanese animals affected by the recent devastation.

A little about the ARK:
After the 1995 "Great Hanshni-Awaji" earthquake, the Animal Rescue Kansai (ARK) played an integral part in rescuing and assisting abandoned and lost animals. Using helicopters, ARK saved over 600 animals. During the current catastrophe, they are drawing on that experience to ready resources for what is now an even larger rescue effort. They have begun to build facilities and are awaiting instructions from Japanese authorities.
